Good Energy recently held its first 'Power from the People' event at the Gaia Centre, next to its wind farm in Delabole. Over 150 people attended the event which provided information on how to start and successfully complete a project to help you generate renewable energy at home or on a bigger scale. Although the event was targeted at local people, some had travelled from as far afield as Shropshire and London to be there. Among the high points were Lord Tyler's presentation on renewables at a policy level and his own personal eco home project; Peter Edwards' account of the history of Delabole wind farm; Owen Yeatman's presentation on bio energy; and Charley Rattan's talk on managing a project. Event organiser Hugo House, head of marketing for Good Energy, said: "We had really positive feedback from the people who attended, and I was pleased that so many found the day so informative. We're keen to keep the good energy of the day going and hope it will lead to lots more people setting up their own renewable energy projects at home and in their communities."
