ON Wednesday, November 7, at Cookbury Church, the Rev Cathy Roberts dedicated a new memorial stone commemorating 100 years since the end of World War One and in memory of those who fell.
Thanks were expressed to William Bryant of Bryant’s Funeral Directors for arranging the engraving of the memorial stone and their kind contribution towards its cost.
Thanks were also expressed to Shawn Dymond, local historian, for his research, Bradford and Cookbury Parish Council for its contribution towards the memorials cost, George Worth for donating the facing stone, and Mike Richmond for all his hard work in building and erecting the memorial.
There is also a new memorial stone which has been erected at Bradford Church which has been funded and researched by the above and erected by Geoffrey Pitt.
Thanks were given to all those involved including Cllr Ann Richmond for her organisation.
