BUDE man, Mark Swift, believes he has captured footage of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) near the town on his home video camera.
In the recording, made between the hours of 8pm and 10pm on Wednesday, May 5, a series of moving lights are clearly visible in the night sky, though he believed they were not those of a passenger or private aircraft.
Mark, a cleaner at Budehaven School, said: "I was sat in my room, and happened to look out the window. As soon as I did, I saw the lights and thought 'what is that?' so I got my camera and started filming."
He noted that at first only one light was visible in the sky, before disappearing behind a cluster of clouds. However, around five minutes later, four moving lights had appeared, again displaying none of the hallmarks and behaviour of regular aircraft.
Mark, who has lived in Bude since 1994, having moved to the town from Sheffield, said he has always maintained an interest in the phenomenon known as UFOs.
He has read various literature on the subject, as well as watching documentaries and listening to radio debates.
Never before though has Mark seen anything so convincing, he said, with his own eyes. When he showed the footage to parents and a relative, they were equally bemused.
"They aren't believers but when they saw the film they agreed it was unexplainable. What I recorded could be of considerable size and was moving at a fair pace. It is remarkable."
