How very commendable for Sainsburys Limited to donate £500 to a local charity as part of their desire to build up a good relationship within the Bude community. It is a shame, therefore, that they appear to have gone ahead with their expansion plans without the benefit of planning permission or consultation with their immediate neighbours, both of which I believe are required by law. Indeed their quest to start making money out of the local community is so urgent that their contractors were on site, banging and crashing around on a Sunday, without so much as an apology, which I find decidedly uncharitable.

As I live not ten yards away from the entrance to the store and have no transport, I shall reluctantly give them my business when they open but to do so will leave a nasty taste in my mouth.
