FIVE oak trees are to be moved from Launceston's Millenium Avenue (Link Road) to make way for a multi-million development.
Following a site meeting on land south-east of Pennygillam, last week, the 'Post' can confirm that five of the 100 trees will be moved, according to planners. The trees are expected to be moved from the site entrance to an alternative location in the development.
Launceston in Bloom chairwoman Margaret Wills has continually responded to plans that affect the 100 oak trees since plans were announced in August last year.
Ms Wills has responded to comments made by Andrew Pegg, managing director of the London and Plymouth based development company Wessex Investors and Development Securities (Launceston) Ltd, in a regional newspaper article.
For the full report, and a round up of the area news and sport, please see this week's edition of the 'Post'.
