BUDE Lifeboat Day was host to a magnificent flypast by the Red Arrows on Monday, and was certainly talk of the town.
The Red Arrows — who only recently performed their first display in Bude, it is thought — were scheduled to arrive at 5.52pm, but arrived a little earlier than expected due to operational reasons.
It was all eyes to the sky as people were eager to catch a glimpse of the famous Red Arrows,
The ten aircraft performed the flypast after taking off from Newquay airport, on the way back to their home base of RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire.
Before Bude Lifeboat Day took place, a spokesperson for the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, said: “We’re delighted to have been invited and to have the opportunity to plan a flypast for Bude’s RNLI Day, and hope the sight of the aircraft in the skies, characterising the best of British, will add to a very successful event.”
