Station Manager Clyde Ferguson told the Post: “It’s refreshing to be able to talk about and show off our equipment and explain how rewarding the role is of a oncall firefighter serving our local community.

“Breaking down barriers and stereotypes of who could be a oncall firefighter is a step in the right direction and we feel by opening our doors and having face to face conversations allows individuals to make informed decisions as to how they could contribute to a fantastic, exciting job.

“Our training is focused on providing the best possible outcome of incidents we attend and are committed to providing the best service at all times, giving individuals life long skills which will enhance the individual in there main employment.

“We look forward to the future and enhancing the already fantastic team at Delabole.

“A huge thank you to the individuals that joined us today and the team on hand to supply valuable information and refreshments.”
