YEAR 8 pupils from Holsworthy Community College had a cooler day for their Sports Day before the end of term.
Activities ranged from gym to swim, cycling, dance, athletics and tennis, finishing off with tug of war or capture the flag.
It was great to see the encouragement and praise that students gave each other — with just a little bit of competitiveness between the houses.
Some school records were broken; Bradley Glessing with javelin at 21.95m, Amelia Disney broke the long jump record at 4.29m, the 100m record in 14.15secs, and the 200m record in 29.85secs. Adam Poole broke the 200m record for boys in 27.69secs.
Lewis Bakehouse said: “I had an amazing time cycling — I really enjoyed it.”
Final scores were: 1st ‘Poseidon’ — 45; 2nd ‘Thor’ — 39; Joint 3rd ‘Apollo’ and ‘Zeus’ — 31.
