CAMELFORD Agricultural Show’s Dog Show saw a record breaking number of entries this year, with over 95 dogs on show and people from all over coming to take part.

The traditional downpour of rain didn’t seem to deter show-goers, as the Show saw people from as far as Germany come along to take part to show off their canine companions.

Dog show secretary, Tony Madge, told the Post: “The show was very good; we had a record entry this year with 95 plus dogs taking part. Lots of people came along, despite the rain, and the entries were good — I think there’s normally 25 or more dogs in a class.

“Everyone seemed to be enjoying it, and we had a lot of sponsorship too.”

Of Camelford Show’s 110 years, the dog show has been included in 50 of them, proving to be a very popular event and getting ‘bigger and bigger each year’, according to Mr Madge.

At this year’s show, people from all over came along to participate, including a woman from as far as Germany.

Mr Madge added: “There were lots of holiday makers, so that was nice to see. We had good sponsorship and generally had a very good show. I’m very pleased with it.”
