PORT Isaac’s RNLI Lifeboat Station recently raised a record breaking fundraising figure for 2015 of £42,000, as announced at the recent annual Port Isaac AGM.

In addition to the announcement of the audited figures for the branch, there was an election of officers for the oncoming year.

Following this, there was an interesting presentation made by marine architect, Tim Parr, from Padstow and a founding director of the Cornish Maritime Trust and Maritime Museum, Cornwall. In this presentation, Mr Parr portrayed the fascinating story of the restoration of a Royal Naval Armed Steam Cutter, dating back to the First World War.
