THERE was a record attendance of around 70 people of all ages at the Boyton Church Hall barbecue lunch, which took place on Sunday, July 23.

Head chef Ray Willis cooked some great burgers, sausages, spare ribs and chicken pieces as well as a vegetable curry. These were complemented by hot new potatoes and a range of delicious salads prepared by Vanessa Stanbury, Rachel Ellacott, Jenny Smith, Janet Rolfe and Vicky Wilson.

This was followed by an array of scrumptious sweets.

Barmen and wine sommeliers were Martin Stanbury and Marcel Ellacott.

The raffle was masterminded by Gordon and Vi Duke, the kitchen helpers were Vicky Wilson, Pauline Frost and Cathy Torpey. The gazebo and bunting were kindly provided by Janet and John Rolfe.

Altogether some £600 was raised for church hall funds.

They were fortunate that the sun shone throughout so many of their guests chose to dine al fresco on the tables put outside the hall. A most enjoyable time was had by all.
