HOLSWORTHY Community College held their annual winter concert on Tuesday, December 6.
Rehearsals took place throughout the day, with a full rehearsal during the last two lessons of the afternoon, which Year 7 and 8 were invited to attend.
Having an audience for the full rehearsal gave the performers the opportunity for a more realistic run through in preparation for the main event.
Some of the highlights of the rehearsals were Year 7 students Erin Slade and Grace and Lucy Burnard with their rendition of ‘Say Something’, Eloise Warren playing the guitar and singing ‘Riptide’, accompanied by Joe Lopez on the piano, and Hayden Drowne playing the guitar and singing ‘Voices’.
Huge thanks were expressed to the performers and Mrs Shepherd and Ms Iles for organising the concert along with the PTFA for providing refreshments and the audience for coming!
Parent governor, Jenni Guy, described it as ‘one of the best concerts’ while teacher, Miss Iles, said: “I would like to say a massive thank you to all the students and staff involved in making this week’s winter concert. It has been another successful evening in the Purple Circle.
“All of their hard work paid off and they received very positive feedback from the audience about the quality of the performances throughout the evening which involved students from Years 7-11. I think that our Year 7 and 8 audience in the afternoon enjoyed it too, definitely the sing along! Well done, everyone!”
