WITH ex-Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's funeral due to take place yesterday (Wednesday), readers of the 'Post' have been in touch with memories of the 'Iron Lady'.
The current owners of the what is now the Arthurian Centre, Slaughterbridge, were at school the day Mrs Thatcher and her husband Dennis visited the family's trout farm before the 1979 elections.
Dan and Maria Parsons had, at the time, received the British Tourist Authority 'Come to Britain' trophy for their "tastefully converted" barns, thought to be some of the first self catering conversions in Cornwall, and had started the Cornish Rainbow Trout farm on the River Camel.
For the full report, and a round up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the 'Post'.
