THE Camelford branch of the Royal British Legion is on the lookout for volunteers to prevent the branch’s closure.

Camelford Royal British Legion (RBL) reported on its Facebook page on Monday morning, that they are ‘currently facing the possibility of laying up its standard and the branch closing down’ due to failing health and old age of its members.

The branch is currently unable to appoint any suitable members as branch officers to form a committee.

They would now like to hear from anyone who would be interested in joining and helping to run the branch.

Those interested do not have to be ex-forces and positions available include chairman, vice-chairman, secretary and treasurer.

Meetings of the RBL committee allow members to make new friends, get involved in more social gatherings, summer coach outings, help with the annual Poppy Appeal and the town’s remembrance service in November.

To find out more, contact the branch president Robin Moore on 01840 213 273 or message the branch on Facebook, ‘Camelford British Legion Branch’.
