Ray and Carol Avent, who are currently serving in Camelford, St Tudy and St Breward Methodist Churches, held a book signing and coffee morning at Camelford Methodist Church on Tuesday, February 16. Ray has recently written two illustrated books entitled 'Riding the Cornish Railways' and 'A Cornish Tour in Words,' both describing his recent travels in this area. All the proceeds from selling the books, at £3 each, goes to the work of CRY (Care and Relief for the Young) working this year through over 30 projects in 17 countries around the world. Ray and Carol are voluntary co-ordinators for the charity CRY in the South West. If you or your local groups want more information about the work amongst children, young people and families, you can contact Ray on 01208 816821 or email him at [email protected]">[email protected]. The next local CRY events are a Cornish Supper Evening and Concert at Delabole Methodist Church on Thursday, February 25 and also a Tea and Auction of Promises at Camelford Methodist Church during May.
