WHEN Holsworthy Motor Club held its Chairman's Trial event this year refreshments were provided by some Thurdon ladies, also members of the Lakeside Loppers, to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Home-made cakes, bacon rolls and many cups of tea, all served with a smile, raised a grand total of £415.
