THE HealthPerfect Community Interest Company (CIC) will be raising money for health related causes in Cornwall and Plymouth this week.
Funds will be raised through The Health Lottery, which runs five weekly draws on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The first health lottery draw was held in November 2011 and has since over £83-million has been raised in total through The Health Lottery.
The money raised through the health lottery has awarded grants by the People’s Health Trust through ‘Active Communities’ — a funding programme that invests in local people and groups in communities with great ideas to make their communities’ event better.
Past projects helped through Active Communities have included ‘Active 8’, a scheme that provides activities to support young people with physical disabilities, encouraging them to become more independent.
Larger charities and organisations, such as Alzheimer’s Society, Scope and Children’s Food Trust, have also benefitted from the funds raised by HealthPerfect CIC’s health lottery.
The Health Lottery scheme manages 51 society lotteries that operate in rotation and each represents a different geographical region of Great Britain.
They raise money for health-related good causes within each of their individual community areas.
Tickets are just £1 and players can find out the winning numbers through the TV draw shows, exclusively on Channel 5 at around 9.55pm every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night.
To check the Thursday draw result or to catch up on any missed draws, players can find The Health Lottery results in a number of national newspapers, online at youtube.com/HealthLottery, healthlottery.co.uk, or on The Health Lottery’s Facebook or Twitter pages.
