CAMPAIGN group 38 Degrees North Cornwall has set up an information table at the Bude Farmers' and Craft Market ahead of the European Union elections in May. The group aims to raise awareness of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) Treaty the EU is negotiating with the United States — 38 Degrees says that, if not modified, the treaty could make any privatisation of the NHS permanent. Group members will be handing out information and leaflets provided by fellow organisation Keep Our NHS Public as part of their awareness campaign. The group is also looking for additional volunteers. Ellen Hawley, of 38 Degrees North Cornwall, said: "We would like people to be aware of issues around the NHS. I would be very happy for people to talk to their MEPs about this. "It would be good for people to raise awareness wherever they are." 38 Degrees North Cornwall's table will be at Bude Farmers' and Craft Market on April 25, May 2 and May 9.
