SANDWICHES, cakes and copious amounts of tea were consumed at an afternoon tea in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event was organised by the Bude Macmillan branch and held in the Central Methodist Church Hall on Saturday.

Charlotte Colwill said: "The afternoon tea was a great success and raised £696 which was fantastic. I would like thank everyone on behalf of the committee for their support, and also the GMC Choir which provided entertainment and was absolutely brilliant."

The branch's next event is a spring lunch on May 20.
