READY to take the lead and put his new skills into practice, Charles Jeffery-Hudson qualified as a Toastmaster late last year.

Before becoming a qualified Toastmaster, Charles, who lives near Clawton, had to attend a course in order to study the duties associated with the role.

He said the course completely changed his mind about the duties carried out by Toastmasters. During the training he took part in lectures which covered subjects such as, English, different faith marriages, preparations needed before officiating at civic functions, the order of nobility from Dukes to Barons and their descendants.

He also had to ensure he understood the correct uniform, is able to recognise the various decorations and titles during events and be confident when publicly speaking.

Students of the course were tested daily on the previous day’s work and had to take an exam before becoming a qualified, professional Toastmaster.

Charles is now looking forward to practicing these new skills are at events and functions and would be happy to offer his services as a speaker to any local groups. For further enquiries contact Charles on 01409 271236.
