PERSISTENT rainfall and the unlikelihood of a long, dry spell have put paid to the 2012 one-day Launceston Agricultural Show, which would have been held at the Kennards House site on Thursday, July 26.The organisers of the popular event in the area's calendar have been forced to reluctantly abandon hopes of holding the event known locally as 'the horse show' and scrap a whole year of preparation and hard work by all concerned.

Other local casualties of the poor weather include the circus at Polson Rigby Club last weekend, which was called off because of the sodden ground.
