Rain did not dampen the spirits of the Coads Green WI on the evening of Wednesday, August 16, when they met at the home of Rosemary O’Brien and husband, Paul, for the summer social.

Members and partners were invited to take a wander through the beautiful gardens, which had been open to the public in previous years to raise money for good causes.

Everyone enjoyed a shared supper, the lively conversation, the stall, organised by Janet Ham and Gerry Rennie, and the raffle run by Alison Gribble. At the end of the evening, president, Linda Willan, thanked Rosemary and Paul for their hospitality.

There was a birthday posie for Sylvia Stenlake.

The trip to Sterts to see My Fair Lady will go ahead on August 29. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 13 at 7.30pm in the Chapel Parlour, when the talk ‘From Graduate to a Life in Textiles’ will be given by Louise Nichols. New members are always welcome.
