A COMPANY has been chosen to carry out work in Camelford’s Enfield Park in the autumn.

Following Camelford Town Council’s meeting on July 4, it was decided that Wicksteed would be the chosen company to install new play equipment in Enfield Park, with works beginning in October. It is thought that during the time of the works, the park will need to be closed between two and three weeks.

The theme of the play area will commemorate the old North Cornwall railway, of which there used to be a station in Camelford and many surrounding areas.

The town council have said they are working with Wicksteed to ensure equipment is as accessible to wheelchair users and those who are less abled, as possible.

A town council spokesman said: “Camelford Town Council would like to thank all those who commented for your input, and are looking forward to making Enfield Park an even better play area!”

It is hoped an official opening will take place during the October half term to welcome children and families to the park.
