A RAFFLE will be held to help raise funds to pay toward a life-changing operation for a 14-year-old Launceston girl.

The Jo Downs team is raffling a 60 cm mirror worth £330 at their Launceston gallery at Pennygillam to raise funds toward the operation for Merryn Teasdale.

Merryn has been diagnosed with Keratoconus, a progressive eye disease, where the round cornea thins and begins to bulge into a cone like shape — this is making her eye sight worse and will get to the point where she will be legally blind.

Her family said the expensive procedure is not available on the NHS for children, and that the operation costs in the region of £6,500.

Tickets are £1 each and the raffle will run until enough money is raised for the operation.

Tickets are available at Jo Downs Glass gallery at 27G Pennygillam Way, Pennygillam.
