A CHEQUE for £950 was presented to Children’s Hospice South West at the Brendon Arms, Bude, following the Bude and District Quiz League event held on March 10.

Organised by quizmaster Guy Pessell, the event, which has been going for the past 12 years, is in memory of ex-landlord at the Brendon Arms and local fisherman Jan Pethick Guy.

Thanks were expressed to Steph and the staff at the Brendon Arms for their continued support and also to St Austell and Sharp’s Breweries, who kindly supplied a barrel of beer each and also donated some of the raffle prizes.
