SNUG as a bug in a quilt! That’s how it will be for many children, from nought to 19 years, thanks to the Delabole Quilters Club.
The club donated a number of quilts recently to Project Linus UK, which takes quilts of various sizes into hospitals or wherever children are in need of a hug.
From tiny incubator quilts which shield the babies from the glare of overhead lights, to bright, colourful, snuggle-up-with quilts for older children. These forever-quilts remind a child that when times were difficult, someone else cared.
Project Linus UK came to Delabole, not to deliver quilts, but to collect them from Delabole Quilters who were pleased to hand over a mini-mountain of quilts made by members of the group.
It’s not just quilts that are needed, there are specific knitted and crocheted items, too. If anyone would like to know more, contact Sue on 01840 212713 who can point people in the right direction.
Delabole Quilters meet fortnightly in the Sunday School at Medrose Chapel. The next meeting will be on October 5 at 2pm.
