PYWORTHY'S Diamond Jubilee celebrations were held in a red, white and blue festooned village with the church beautifully decorated for the Commonwealth Flower Festival and a special Jubilee Eucharist on the Sunday.

Unfortunately obviously not every Commonwealth country could occupy the church windows, but the ingenuity to convey the country concerned were quite stupendous. The children had made little flags for every Commonwealth country and these were draped around the triangle opposite the Park. Well done all of you.

Special thanks must also go to Irene Sharp who organised the whole event and with her little band of helpers got everything inside the church sorted out, with little bowls of flowers on the steps below the chancel, each one with a Commonwealth country's flag included.
