A PUMPKINS on Parade competition is one of the first events that Camelford Town Council’s events team has organised.

The competition, on Saturday, will take place in the entrance of Enfield Park and children are invited to take their pumpkins along at 4pm. Judging will take place at 6.30pm with prizes for the best carved pumpkins.

The park entrance will be suitably decorated and there will be a few activities on as well.

This is another part of creating a year-long programme of community events in the town. The town council already has a series of events planned for next year and Cllr Kirsty Ferguson is leading the project.

At the recent meeting of the council, councillors voted in favour of purchasing 500 glow sticks, to distribute to children at events such as the pumpkin parade.
