MORE than 50 pupils from St Joseph’s School participated in the annual Wadebridge Music Festival in March.

This festival of Music and Speech runs for five days and includes competition classes for speech, brass, choirs, instrumental and vocal.

The Year 4 Speech and Drama pupils won the Choral Speaking Class on Monday, March 7.

The pupils involved were Rosy Renfree, Louisa Smith, Ella Shaw, Jack Woods, Martha Weymouth, Ben Hodgson, Olivia Shute, China Bunyard, Isaac Clarke, Georgie Gilbert and Matthew Rowland.

The Junior Choir (Years 5 and 6) sang beautifully, gaining second place with distinction in their class.

Many pupils also participated in instrumental and vocal classes.

A school spokesperson said: “A special mention must go to Year 8 pupil Millie Turner who won an amazing three singing classes!

“Many congratulations to all the pupils who took part and a huge thank you to all the teachers involved and parents who came along and supported. Well done to all of you!”
