Pupils from Kilkhampton, Whitstone and Jacobstow Primary Schools recently collaborated on a pinhole and digital camera workshop at a National Trust farm near Bude. Photography students from Falmouth University run an annual community project as part of their degree and invite local school children along to mix old and new photography skills. They approached the National Trust for a new location and chose Stowe Barton farm, Kilkhampton. National Trust head ranger Jeff Cherrington said: "We leapt at the chance of hosting the workshop. We regularly work with all three primary schools and thought this would give the children a fantastic opportunity to see Stowe Barton from a totally different angle." The children learned how a pinhole camera worked. Made from empty aluminium cans, they proved a huge success with the pupils producing some exceptional work. Every photo they took was developed on-site and turned into a gallery at the end of each day. As a contrast, the children also used digital cameras to take pictures of their favourite views and objects in the courtyard and grounds of Stowe Barton.
