THE children of North Petherwin and Werrington Primary Schools have been taking part in the 'Send my friend to school' campaign. They have been designing buddies to raise awareness of the 57-million children around the world who do not go to primary school, and 24-million of these children have a disability. The children will be sending their buddies to North Cornwall MP, Liberal Democrat Dan Rogerson, in the hope that their messages reach Government. The schools are working together towards achieving UNICEF's Rights Respecting Schools Award, which recognises the rights of children around the world. For the full report, and a round up of the latest area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
