A SAFER Schools Partnership (SSP) between Holsworthy Primary School and the police has been launched — the first of its kind in the area.

The scheme aims to reinforce the working relationship between the school and police, boosting a 'safe environment' where young people can develop to their full potential.

Sgt Pennie Channing from Holsworthy Police said: "The SSPs were initially set up in the areas where crime and disorder were identified as a real problem within a school and generally a PCSO was dedicated to the school full time to work on improving these issues."
