ST Ann’s pump in Holsworthy is one of four pumps that was situated around Holsworthy to supply the needs of the town for fresh water.

It had fallen into disrepair and in 1996 it was decided to rebuild the pump and house. This work was undertaken by Ron Gerry, who was assisted by John Allen and Mike Johns, with the help of local tradesmen.

In 2018, it was found that the pump was not working. Holsworthy man Melvyn Jenkins supplied Chris Osborne and Ron Gerry with a set of plans to build a new pump box. Melvyn had made pump boxes before, for wells around the town and surrounding areas. This pump box had to be spot-on to work and Melvyn’s plans had to be followed exactly. The box was built in the ‘Man Shed’ at Holsworthy during 2018 by Chris Osborne and Ron Gerry, and has now been installed at St Ann’s well. The pump is up and running, it has flowers and is well looked after.
