BRIDGERULE has celebrated another very successful Revel week.

The week began with the carnival queen, Emily Colwill being crowned by the retiring queen Katie Hallett. Emily is to be supported this year by her sister as attendant, Sophie Colwill.

The crowning was followed a cream tea event and various sideshows.

In the evening, the friends of St Bridget’s Church and the Methodist Chapel united in a service, which was led by the Rev Neal Street and the Rev Christopher Penn.

On Monday evening, the ladies skittle club put on a new event of combining skittles with an indoor bowls target challenge. A total of 21 teams took part with the eventual winners being Three Blind Mice and runners up The Three Amigos.

During the day on Tuesday various competitions took place in the village hall. The competitions consisted of cookery, art, flower arranging, indoor plants, vegetable showing and items made of fabric, wool and wood. Over 70 items were entered in the show and winners were each given special rosettes.

A family fun dog show took place in the evening, run by Breezelyn Dog Kennels. This event was well supported and homemade refreshments were served.
