A LAUNCESTON town councillor bemoaned low turnout to councillor surgeries when they are held at the Tourist Information Centre.
At last week’s town council meeting, Cllr Paul O’Brien asked: “Why are we bothering to attend a surgery at the TIC? Previous experience has shown it’s a complete and utter waste of time. I have seen so few people come through that door.”
Mayor Cllr Margaret Young said: “It’s a resolution of this council that we are there January and February months. We did have one or two visitors.”
Cllr O’Brien replied: “Were they lost?” Cllr Young said: “One or two is better than none.”
The next surgery is on Saturday, February 10, when town councillors will be available to speak to from 9am to 1pm at the TIC.
