A LARGE scale public consultation event will give residents and road users of Launceston the chance to air their views on the pedestrianisation plans which have been included in proposals for the town.

Launceston Town Strategy group has devised a series of questionnaires applicable for each area in the town which is subject to development. Plans include changes intended for a number of areas in the town which are considered to be inconvenient and even dangerous.

Church Street, Westgate Street and High Street have been suggested as parts which could be pedestrianised, whilst a junction at Newport Industrial Estate would be redesigned and access on Race Hill, Carboth Lane, and St Stephens Hill could be made one way routes.
