JUST under £600 profit from the St Breward Christmas fayre was a "remarkably good result" said organisers — and what an "excellent and happy event it was, too".

From the auction of a cake — worthy of Fortnum and Mason — to the Christmas stall groaning with seasonal arrangements and goodies, the refreshments, stalls doing brisk business, free ginger cookies and a Santa's sack for the children, there was something for everyone.
