AFFORDABLE housing in Launceston, has received a major boost following the completion of 34 energy efficient properties for local residents.

The not-for-profit Sanctuary Group, one of the UK's leading housing providers, has developed the former Miller House site on Dunheved Road in partnership with Cornwall Council and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

The scheme, a re-development of the former care home, is located on a prominent site.

Comprising 33 two-bedroom and a single one-bedroom apartments, all properties have been built to Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes with some enjoying stunning views across the town and countryside.

The £2.4-million development was made possible thanks to an investment of over £1.5million from the HCA, the national housing and regeneration agency for England, and all apartments are available to local residents for rent.
