AN amount of money approaching £1,000 was stolen during a distraction theft at St Giles-on-the-Heath Post Office at around 1/1.30pm on Wednesday, November 26.
A spokesman for Holsworthy Police said that three white males were involved in the burglary, two relatively short and one much bigger. One of the men was believed to be Eastern European, but not Polish.
The men were seen driving a small white vehicle, the make of which is not known.
The spokesman reported that the suspects used distraction techniques to distract a member of staff whilst one of the men went behind the counter and stole a significant amount of money.
Police said this appeared to be a one-off incident and suspected that the men may not have been from this area. They have asked Post Office Ltd to circulate news of the burglary to other local branches.
