A VERY proud moment was enjoyed by all of the members at the Bude Women's Running Network on Thursday night.
Those who started the first ever beginners ten week course in late October last year, finally completed their course after a few cancelled runs with the recent snow and ice.
Lara Trewin and Katie Davis from Women's Running Network were on hand to lead the group out for their three mile run and congratulate all for completing the course. Lara and Katie have seen their group go from being complete novices, beginner runners to runners who completed a three point one mile course in 37 minutes, a wonderful achievement for all.
Katie Davis said: "We are extremely proud of the ladies' achievements, we have seen this group go from strength to strength each week and have seen their confidence in their abilities as runners increase tenfold. Many members are looking forward to completing the Race for Life five kilometre races in 2010 and are now joining the WRN Improvers runs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings."
Every runner was once a beginner and the Women's Running Network are dedicated to encouraging women of all shapes, sizes and abilities to enjoy running in a safe, social environment. WRN Bude, are taking another two groups of beginners out each week as well as enabling intermediate runners to run with them on Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well.
