There were 30 Year 11 leavers from Castle School this year who attended a leavers reception after their last GCSE on Thursday, June 18. They had all worked extremely hard and between them they have taken a wide variety of subjects, including Spanish, French, Latin, IT, astronomy, art and music, in addition to the more traditional subjects.
Some of the year group had also undertaken a BTEc Work Skills course which enhances their employability and encourages career progression. This course covers job applications, CV writing and interview techniques culminating in a real interview with external personnel. They all felt that this had helped with their college and job interviews.
The leavers were joined by family, friends and staff to wish them luck for their futures and they were all presented with a leaving gift and a DVD reflecting their time at Castle School. Later in the evening, they continued celebrating at their leavers prom which they all thoroughly enjoyed.
