THE winners of the Camelford mayor’s sunflower summer challenge have been presented with prizes.
As part of the summer challenge set by Camelford mayor, Kirsty Ferguson, over 90 people accepted sunflower seeds from Cllr Ferguson at the spring fayre to be planted and grown as part of the sunflower competition.
In August, Cllr Ferguson visited a number of properties around Camelford and declared the winners.
On Tuesday, September 4, she presented winners and runners-up with prizes and certificates.
Winner of the adult category was Hilary Smeeth, while Noah Rosen won in the children’s category with his nine-foot-tall sunflower, which has continued to grow to 11ft.
The mayor’s autumn challenge is now open for entries.
