The Whitstone Carnival Flower and Produce Show took place on Saturday.
The carnival committee has extended thanks to the team of volunteers that helped put the produce show on, steward and generally get stuck in to make it a successful event.
The Acorns Pre-School car treasure hunt also took place on Saturday, following the flower and produce show.
A total of 24 cars took part in the event, which followed a route kindly prepared by Geoffrey and Charlotte Hopper from the village hall, down Balsdon Road to Tinney and on to Bridgerule.
On completion of the treasure hunt, participants were able to round off the evening with a barbecue and refreshments, with meat kindly donated by Justin and Liz Uglow and Darren and Kate Sobey.
An enjoyable evening was had by all and prizes went to: 1, Sugar Charged Screamers (Andrew, Emily, Luke, Sam and Bryony Medland); 2, Mel Slade and family; 3, Ruby’s Car (Nick and Wendy Furse, Rob, Rachel and Ruby Orchard.
The wooden spoon, created by the pre-school children was awarded to the LERB team.
A spokesman said: “The Acorns committee would like to thank all that attended to make it a successful evening and all proceeds shall be going to Acorns Pre-School. Also a big thank you to the parents that helped with the running of the evening.
