STRATTON Primary School held its open evening to officially show members of the public the new £2-million extension, last Thursday.

The extension, which started construction in the Easter of 2012, includes four new classes, a staffroom, new hall and a food technology room, as well as other ancillary rooms.

The extension was opened on Wednesday, February 12 in the afternoon with the children by four talented ex-pupils: Solly Kemball Dorey, a rock climber who showed a film of him in competition climbing; Aaron Kent, now a drummer and did drumming demonstration; Sam Jennings, a tennis player who showed a film of him training and playing tennis; and gymnast Kylie Piper, who did a floor demonstration and tumbling run.
