BUDE-Stratton Town Council has agreed in principle to a precept of no more than 2.5 per cent for the coming year.
Whilst a precept of 0 per cent was considered, favoured by some because of the people of Bude having to find savings in their own homes owing to wage freezes, inflation in real terms — possibly around the five per cent mark — would mean the council having to find in the region of £42,000 in savings.
