POUGHILL Revel and Cuckoo Fair held its annual ‘thank you evening’ on Tuesday, December 20, at the Preston Gate Inn, Poughill.

Proceeds from this year’s revel were donated to various local organisations and charities, and representatives from each charity were invited along to collect their cheques.

The organisations included both Devon and Cornwall Air Ambulance, St Olaf’s Church, Poughill Village Hall, Poughill Methodist Church, Bude Floral Art, Bude Food Bank, Stratton League of Friends and Bude Metric Brass.

The evening was described as ‘involving lots of community spirit and Christmas cheer’, with entertainment provided by the much loved Bencoolen Wreckers.

Charlotte Veale, secretary of the Revel committee, said: “On behalf of the Poughill Revel committee, I would like to thank Paul and Dani at the Preston Gate for hosting a great evening; the Bencoolen Wreckers for a wonderful evening of entertainment, and the locals for your continued support.”
