THE North Cornwall Ward of Poughill and Stratton will be going to the polls on Thursday, January 27 to select a new councillor for Bude-Stratton Town Council.

Nominations for the by-election closed at noon last Thursday (December 30) and electors will be able to choose from three candidates — Nick Compton, Brian James Dixon and Rowena Fern Hoseason.

There are three polling stations in the Ward which will be open between 7am and 10pm on January 27. There will be two stations at Poughill Village Hall and one at Stratton Community Hall.

Flexbury Methodist Church Hall would also normally be used as a polling station, but as a result of its recent closure, the Deputy Returning Officer has decided to move the polling station temporarily to Poughill Village Hall for this election.

Poll cards were being sent to all eligible registered electors in the Poughill and Stratton ward.
