BRADWORTHY came out on top after an eight goal thriller in this cup tie.
Brad couldn't have started any worse when Tom Marsh was able to wriggle free in the box and fire in to give North Molton an early lead.
Bradworthy soon struck back, Alan Clarke volleyed in from close range before a dubious penalty was awarded against Brad's stand-in 'keeper Michael Sampson, who had appeared to make little contact, if any, on Molton striker Dean Plummer. Justice was done as Sampson saved the resulting spot kick with his legs.
Brad took full advantage and Luke Potter's perfectly threaded through ball was finished coolly by Carlo Chandler before Toby Curtis was thwarted from close range and Gary Clarke fired the rebound wide.
Brad moved two goals in front when Luke Potter's tame shot from distance took a nasty bobble in front of the Molton 'keeper and squirmed over the line. There was still time for Tom Marsh to net his second of the game before half time when his miss-hit shot wrong footed Sampson and trickled in at the near post to leave the tie delicately poised at 3-2 after 45 minutes.
The second half provided just as much entertainment for the neutral as Andy Cotton's long range effort found the net for the home side. Again a bobble provided a massive contribution and left the hapless Molton 'keeper stranded as the ball changed direction after skidding off the turf and crossed the line.
North Molton stayed in touching distance as Plummer poked home after Sampson had charged down a shot on the edge of his box to make the score 4-3.
That scoreline did not last long as almost instantly Brad restored their two goal cushion. Another great ball from Potter set Chandler free down the left hand side and his low cross was expertly turned in by Alan Clarke for his second of the game.
With 25 minutes still on the clock it seemed certain there would be more goals with Bradworthy dominating possession and playing some slick football on a heavy pitch. They created further chances without finding the net but would have been happy with their performance and progression to the next round.
