THE state of roads in the Holsworthy area has been raised by town's councillors ahead of winter.
"With the event of winter, what is the availability of salt for the roads and repairing of potholes," asked Holsworthy councillor Ken Watson.
It was this question that sparked a number of concerns from councillors at the Holsworthy council meeting on September 7.
The question was directed at Cllr Barry Parsons (Leader of Torridge District Council and county councillor for Holsworthy Rural.
Cllr Parsons replied: "There are a lot of difficulties with potholes because they don't clear out the sides of the roads well and it is a real issue. I keep on at that, as we continue to suffer with potholes and we can't roll out stretches of road. It will be a patch job and we will have to fight for every pothole that gets done."
