THERE’S more money in St Minver after one lucky player scooped £30,000, thanks to People’s Postcode Lottery.
The Trewiston Lane resident, who plays with postcode PL27 6PZ, was a Street Prize winner on February 12. Richard Smith (47) was extremely surprised to see the team from People’s Postcode Lottery at his door as he returned from holiday. “I had literally just returned home from Bali to find the team at my door – they called me while I was away but I thought it was a hoax!” he said.
People’s Postcode Lottery Ambassador, Danyl Johnston, said: “Richard was pretty shocked to see me at his door but very happy to receive his £30,000 cheque. I hope he has fun spending his winnings!”
More than £175.5 million to date has been raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery for over 2,800 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
A project near St Minver that has received support from players is The Farming & Wildlife Advisory Group Southwest, which was awarded £19,500 last year to create new habitats, help farmers into agri-environment agreements, and improve the understanding of environment issues by local people and farmers.
